Leather is an ingredient full of mystery that all perfumers are after. It is not easily tamed; it’s rough and even when tanned it remains raw. Dipped in a bath of bergamot and orange and sprinkled with spices: pepper, nutmeg and cardamom, I laid it out in the wind facing the ocean. Subject to the iodinised air, it is joined to a light dusting of iris. A touch of black oud, plenty of vetiver, a little cedar and rock rose complete this floral leather, my CUIR FLORÈS.
