GEODORA at Expo Rose 2025: An Olfactory Tribute to Claudia Cardinale
Grasse, a city of art and history, is more than ever asserting its identity, where art emerges around every corner.
As part of Expo Rose 2025, a unique exhibition will take place in the crypt of Grasse Cathedral starting May 8. This poetic encounter between photography and perfumery brings together the sensitive eye of photographer Élias and the olfactory expertise of Grasse’s perfumers.
Each portrait on display is interpreted through a fragrance creation, revealing a delicate dialogue between image and scent.
On this occasion, GEODORA had the honor of illustrating the portrait of Claudia Cardinale through scent—an iconic figure whose grace and life journey resonate deeply with the spirit of the brand.
For this project, GEODORA unveils Swing Néroli in an exclusive preview, one of the perfume extracts from its upcoming collection. A line envisioned as an ode to intense emotions, noble materials, and sensory richness, true to the house’s identity.
Swing Néroli – A Creation Inspired by Cinema and the Mediterranean
Swing Néroli is an original creation by Gérard Gatti, founder of GEODORA, perfumer, and director of Fragrances Concerto, our fragrance creation house dedicated to serving brands.
Fragrances Concerto is a proud member of Grasse Expertise, and like GEODORA, is deeply committed to the preservation and promotion of Grasse’s heritage.
This fragrance dazzles with its multicolored facets. The noble bitter orange tree releases golden aromas, combining sparkling zest with sun-drenched nectar. Its vibrant freshness contrasts with the sweet softness of dates, ripening like melting jewels on sun-kissed skin.
At the heart, a tender and voluptuous rose whispers promises of the East. Its scent, as soft as a childhood memory, blends into the delicacy of loukoum, a velvet of sugar and honey. Woods and musks extend this indulgent embrace with their enveloping warmth.
Swing Néroli was born from a fusion of three passions: cinema, writing, and perfumery. Inspired by the portrait of Claudia Cardinale, the legendary actress of cult films (Once Upon a Time in the West by Sergio Leone, The Leopard by Luchino Visconti), this fragrance pays tribute to her spirited, radiant, and free-spirited beauty.
Her Italian roots, shared with GEODORA’s founder, and her childhood spent in Tunisia—the main setting of the novel Effluve Express E57—naturally led to this olfactory tribute.
Composed around the citrus fruits of southern Italy, enriched with Neroli essence from Tunisia, and brightened by a touch of rose in reference to the Claudia Cardinale rose created in 1997, Swing Néroli celebrates a vibrant Mediterranean beauty with timeless charm.
