A feeling of warmth and comfort cocoons me as I sit in a cedar wood cabin in the heart of the Parc des Monts Valin in northern Canada. Outside, as far as the eye can see, there is nothing but a blanket of snow. A ray of sunlight pushes through the icy cold; it is -35°C. Inside, a sweet smell of cedar mingles with the warm, round notes of vanilla and bushman’s candle. A cold warmth, accentuated by lemon, chamomile, geranium and coriander, cast an icy veil over the cozy balsam of Peru.
